Failing wind market leads to job cuts at Vestas Pueblo factory
"In response to this market slowdown and in accordance with its business needs, Vestas Towers America in Pueblo, Colo., today adjusted its manufacturing workforce. This workforce reduction in the tower factory represents approximately 3 percent of Vestas' total workforce in the U.S. and Canada."

Vestas to furlough 500 at Windsor plant next year Vestas Wind Systems, which employs 1,700 people in Colorado, said today that due to a weakening market it was cutting the jobs at its tower factory in Pueblo.
The factory employs about 400 people. Aarhus, Denmark-based Vestas did not say how many jobs were being cut, but the company told Pueblo officials that it was not closing the plant.
"It is disappointing," said Jack Rink, president and chief executive officer of the Pueblo Economic Development Corp. "Vestas has been a good company and worked with the community. We're heart-broken."
