Canyon wind farm approved
In addition to having the first full-scale wind farm in Utah, Thomas said the city will benefit from the lease payments and the schools will benefit from the property taxes.

A proposed wind farm at the mouth of Spanish Fork Canyon is no longer proposed.
³It's a done deal,² said Spanish Fork Mayor Joe Thomas. ³This is a win-win for every single player that's involved.²
Project developers at Wasatch Wind confirmed they have completed lease agreements with the three landowners of the site, and will sign a power purchase agreement with Pacificorp today6/21 for the power generated by the windmills.
³It's a landmark because we had to get this paperwork signed,² said Wasatch Wind spokeswoman Christine Watson Mikell. ³We're just about done.²
