Blade snaps off windmill
An Austrian wind farm had to be closed after a blade snapped off one of the wind turbines, and fell over 100 metres to the ground.
According to Austrian power the reason was a production fault and not because of a lightning strike as had previously been feared.

An Austrian wind farm had to be closed after a blade snapped off one of the wind turbines, and fell over 100 metres to the ground.
According to Austrian power the reason was a production fault and not because of a lightning strike as had previously been feared.
The Deutschkreutz Windpark in Burgenland was secured and closed off immediately after the accident according to Austrian Windpower spokesperson Gerhard Altmann.
"An initial investigation has shown that the incident occurred due to a production fault. It has been taken away for repair."
