Henderson wind turbine discussion postponed
Jerry Tackley, the board's chairman, said the advice that he had received from the town's attorney was that a long-form environmental assessment from the state Department of Environmental Conservation was necessary. The requirement stems from the town's law banning private wind turbines, passed in 2010.

HENDERSON - A decision from the town's Zoning Board of Appeals on whether to allow a private wind turbine in the town will be held up for another month as questions linger about what paperwork must be filed.
Sherret E. Chase, president of Chase Construction Management Inc. and contractor for the project, said Tuesday he had rescheduled a hearing on the matter from today to July 18.
The delay follows months of debate on the application to approve a variance for the 10-kilowatt wind turbine generator, which will be at 11375 Whitney Road, owned by Harvey K. and Susan L. Grimshaw. The... [continue via Web link]
