Wind turbines within 46-mile radius require extra review so they don't block radar
Maryland Department of Legislative Services illustration Effective June 1, a 46-mile radius was established around Patuxent River Naval Air Station to add another layer of regulation on certain wind turbines that can affect the base's radar systems. Although that circle spills over to neighboring states, the law does not apply to Virginia or Delaware.
