Lake Township board on 3-2 vote to explore 4-25 agreement
A 4-25 agreement is not annexation, as it is only for an agreed, specified period, but would put that property under Chandler Township zoning, which has a wind energy development ordinance.

On a 3 to 2 vote, the Lake Township board Monday night approved naming three people, two board members and a member of the township planning board to explore what a 4-25 agreement with Chandler Township could mean to the township, which if it came to be, would allow for the development of a D.T.E. wind energy project, part of which would be in Lake Township. The action comes after voters in February in Lake Township had turned down a proposed zoning ordinance for wind energy almost 2 to 1.
