Crews in Harper County cleaning up after Saturday's tornado
Five turbines were also destroyed at a nearby wind farm that's still under construction.
The preliminary rating of the tornado northwest of Harper is an EF-3. Officials say that tornado damaged a farmstead four miles west of Harper. The maximum width of the tornado was 200 yards.

(HARPER, Kan.)- Residents of Harper County are cleaning up after a tornado in South Central Kansas damaged several homes. At one of the homes the roof was ripped off--that home belongs to Kurt Hostetler.
"It was devastating, to say the least," Hostelter says.
Hostetler was gone but his son and family were in the house when the storm hit. All survived uninjured.
Hostetler also lost much of his farm equipment just as he was preparing to harvest his wheat. Much of the machinery is mangled or crushed. He plans to lease equipment so he can go forward with the... [continue via Web link]
