Lights out for upgrades at San Patricio County wind farms
When the wind farm was built, it was developed with a temporary connection to the state's power grid. The permanent connection is now complete, and the wind farm is offline while transitioning to the new equipment, Harrison said.

SAN PATRICIO COUNTY - Travelers on U.S. Highways 77 and 181 aren't seeing the familiar field of red lights blinking in unison over the wind farms of San Patricio County this week.
The lights have gone dark and the turbine blades have stopped - temporarily.
The Papalote Creek wind farm near Taft has halted electricity generation while its owner, E.On Climate and Renewables, conducts upgrades and maintenance, site supervisor Todd Harrison said.
