Unison urged to switch wind-farm site
The committee asked Mrs Lucas to identify other areas in Hawke's Bay that might be suitable for a wind farm. She suggested the ranges west of the Te Waka Range, close to the proposed site.

Wind farms got the thumbs-up from most people giving verbal submissions to a hearings committee reviewing Unison Networks' resource consent at Hastings District Council yesterday.
Unison has applied to build 37 turbines near Te Waka Range, Te Pohue.
Most submitters, however, did not like the proposed site and asked the applicant, Unison, to consider alternative sites to build the wind farm, which could power about 50,000 homes every year.
