EAGLE CREEK TWP. -- The footprint for a 10,000-acre planned south Lake County wind farm east of Lowell has doubled -- to 23,000 acres, a wind development company told landowners Tuesday night.
The expanded plans also mean that the $2 billion alternative energy farm could hold not just 50 turbines, but up to 198, representatives of Australian-based Windlab told a group of landowners who stand to make money through leasing their property for Eagle Creek Wind Park.
