Wind meeting "blown" because of too many people
It was a packed house at the Pontypool Community Centre Thursday (July 29) night -- a little too packed.
Not a half hour into the planned three-hour public meeting regarding two proposed wind turbine projects in Pontypool and Bethany, fire officials shut it down for violating fire codes for going over capacity.

Fire officials shut down information meeting with wind companies when Pontypool Community Centre exceeded its legal capacity

Not a half hour into the planned three-hour public meeting regarding two proposed wind turbine projects in Pontypool and Bethany, fire officials shut it down for violating fire codes for going over capacity.
Ingo Stuckman from Energy Farming Ontario Ltd. tried to reassure the rowdy crowd outside the hall that because the meeting was broken up, another meeting would have to be planned in a more appropriate location. One female attendee had earlier tried to ensure that conclusion by ripping up the sign-in sheets the consulting group M.K. Ince and Associates had at the door to cheers from the assembled crowd.
