Klug Hill wind turbine expected to generate power by fall
Optiwind first attempted to obtain a site at Woodridge Lake in Goshen to construct one of its turbines, but the concept was turned down following months of meetings with the Goshen Planning and Zoning Commission.
In the meantime, Klug approached the company asking that they consider his farm as a possible site, in the hopes that having wind energy would lower his farm's high electricity costs.

TORRINGTON - A wind turbine being built on Klug Hill Road in Torrington should be generating power sometime this fall.
The first part of the turbine is currently sitting atop the tower part of the structure and tests will be conducted before it is lowered and re-calibrated. Shortly thereafter, Optiwind will add two more wind gathering devices and add them to the tower structure.
The turbine being built is the first the company has built and will provide power to Klug Farm, owned by George "Butch Klug".
