Wind farm opponents welcome national code
A community group opposed to wind farms near Taralga, north of Goulburn in the NSW southern highlands, has welcomed the Federal Government's move to provide a national code for wind farms.

Environment Minister Ian Campbell released a discussion paper on the proposed code yesterday.
The group, the Taralga Landscape Guardians, are appealing against a State Government-approved wind farm at Taralga in the Land and Environment Court today.
The group's secretary, Martha Graham, says it does not make sense to have different rules available in different states.
"We definitely will be looking at the discussion paper with a lot of interest," she said.
"We do have some understanding of what was going to be in the discussion paper and we'd hope that the different states involved would get behind this national code... [continue via Web link]
