Cascade turbines running; Village first in state to power plant by wind

CASCADE - The Village of Cascade has become the first Wisconsin community to have its municipal wastewater treatment plant powered entirely by the wind.
This week, a pair of 100-kilowatt wind turbines went into service atop a small hill on Bates Road, north of county Highway F, where the wastewater treatment plant is located. The hill is one of the highest points in Cascade.
