Large Crowd Turns Out For Hearing On UPC Wind
SHEFFIELD -- About 200 people gathered in the community room at the Miller's Run School Tuesday night for a hearing before the Vermont Public Service Board.

They came from many towns to talk and to listen to comments on UPC Vermont Wind's proposal to build 26 398-foot wind turbines in Sheffield and Sutton.
About 45 signed up to speak. Those opposed to the project expressed their concerns about the effect on wildlife and on their quality of life.
Those in favor talked about global warming and the need for renewable energy sources.
About half the student population of the King George School in Sutton was there and some spoke about the health hazards the turbines would cause the students.
