1 injured wind-farm worker remains hospitalized
A worker hurt during an East County wind-farm accident Monday remained hospitalized Tuesday, while a colleague was expected to go home, company officials said.
The two were working around noon Monday in the nacelle, or hub, of a wind turbine on the Campo Indian Reservation when a piece of electrical equipment sent off a giant spark.

A worker hurt during an East County wind-farm accident Monday remained hospitalized Tuesday, while a colleague was expected to go home, company officials said.
The two were working around noon Monday in the nacelle, or hub, of a wind turbine on the Campo Indian Reservation when a piece of electrical equipment sent off a giant spark called an "arc flash," said David Smith, chief operating officer of Bluarc Management Group, which runs the farm.
An initial investigation indicated they were hurt by the heat, not the electricity, Smith said.
"It's something that can happen when you're working with high-voltage equipment," he said.
