COHASSET - A new subdivision could be in the cards for the land where two wind turbines were recently proposed in Cohasset. Civil engineer and CCI-Energy President Jim Sweeney, the proponent of the Cohasset Heights wind turbine project, was before the planning board this week presenting plans for a new access road to the site from Route 3A.
A series of hearings will follow.
Sweeney said the idea is to make the two lots, one of which is home to the capped Graham Waste landfill, into three.
The company's application for two commercial-sized wind turbines on the same property was rejected by the planning board in May.
The new road to the property would begin to the north of the Hingham Lumber building on Route 3A and end at a 120-foot dead end, giving access to all three lots.
Planning board members asked the company to come back with better plans for how to deal with the steep grade leading up to the property, which the road would climb.
The group will be back before the board Aug. 19.
