Tyrone Borough Council will vote on a watershed study that started a few years ago.
Mayor Kilmartin tells WJACTV.com the city has been working with a group of geologists from Casselberry and Associates. The team presented their findings Moday night and told the council that windmills would be most effective if they were built on nearby watershed property.
The city has been going back and forth between building windmills or establishing a gas lease, but the mayor says windmills appear to be the best fit.
"[They] presented a positive," Kilmartin said. "But also bringing about what we need to be very careful about how we do things and implement things in order to do our due diligence."
The windmill proposal is expected in January.
