Hearings to collect testimony and other evidence on a request by Cape Wind Associates that the state Energy Facilities Siting Board override a Cape Cod Commission denial of two transmission cables for the wind farm the company wants to build in Nantucket Sound ended a week ago. Cape Wind has also asked the siting board to issue a composite certificate that would effectively grant approval for a slew of local and state permits required for the transmission lines.
Over the next month, parties in the case must file any documents to supplement the testimony already given, according to the schedule. Final briefs are due Jan. 6.
There is no specific time frame for when the siting board will make its decision following that date, according to Timothy Shevlin, spokesman for the siting board.
