The Peak District National Park Authority will take its appeal to the High Court.
In September, the planning inspector upheld plans for the wind farm at Carsington Water.
The firm behind the project said it will produce much-needed energy.
Derbyshire Dales District Council is joining with the park authority in the appeal.
Major impact
Although the wind farm is not inside the Peak District park, it is near the national park boundary.
The four 102m (335ft) turbines are planned for Carsington Pastures, between Matlock and Ashbourne.
The Carsington Wind Energy proposal was approved following an eight-day public inquiry in July.
The district council's original rejection of the proposal was supported by the authority because it would have "a major impact on the landscape".
National Park Authority spokesman Hilda Gaddum said: "The giant scale of these turbines would have a visual impact well within the national park.
"Our statutory responsibility, and that of all national park authorities, is to protect the natural, unspoiled beauty of the landscape for generations to come."
Derbyshire Dales District council leader, Lewis Rose said it supported renewable energy sources but called for the firm to consider alternative sites.
