Some landowners are fighting plans for wind farms, saying the towering turbines will mar the landscape and block scenic views.
Fraser said Friday the Senate Committee on Business and Commerce will hear testimony on Oct. 6 from the Public Utility Commission on the process of placing the turbines, as well as from representatives of the wind-generation industry and area landowners.
Members of the public may also participate.
"This hearing will allow the Senate Committee on Business and Commerce to review the pros and cons of regulating the siting of wind turbines," Fraser said.
"I am confident that this review will assist the Legislature in making policy decisions that help develop wind energy in those areas where it is welcome and encouraged."
The hearing begins at 9 a.m. Monday, Oct. 6 in the Betty King Room of the Texas Capitol.
