Erecting wind turbines in Tazewell and Logan Counties is being met with some resistance.
But Tazewell County Zoning Board of Appeals votes to give the wind farm company a special usage permit.
After more than two hours of deliberation the seven-member board voted to give Horizon, the energy company, the permits for the wind farm under myriad conditions.
Two main issues of concern for board members was the problem concerning noise and property values.
Boynton Township farmer Mark Graber says he's still undecided on whether he's for or against the wind turbine.
"I'm in favor of it too because our family does have ownership where we would have a wind turbine and some transmission lines.
I guess I keep going back and forth and there are positives and there are negatives," says Mark Graber.
Before the wind Farm Company can begin construction it needs approval from the Tazewell County Board...of road construction and the decommissioning of the wind turbines in case there's a problem.
