Wind farm is coming to Michigan's Thumb
You’ve probably seen photos of oil rigs in the ocean. Now picture towering wind turbines dotting Michigan’s farmlands and the shallow waters of the Great Lakes, generating clean power to light homes and run factories.

This month, a New York-based company is breaking ground on a wind farm in the Thumb that will be the fifth-largest in the country when it’s completed in a few years.
It’s the kind of project that President George W. Bush promoted in his State of the Union Address last week when he talked about breaking America’s addiction to oil.
