Lt Governor, John Carney recently met with company officials about a potential training program
Bluewater Wind's efforts to build a wind farm off the coast of Rehobeth Beach, despite various setbacks, remains optimistic. Even with an overwhelming number of elected officials who like Bluewater Wind's proposal, it's still languishing in Dover, but that could change in early March when state lawmakers vote on a measure which could potentially send Delmarva to the negotiating table with Bluewater Wind, a move the power giant has been steadfastly fighting.
In the meantime, Bluewater Wind continues to make promises to Delaware Lt. Governor, John Carney, who met with company officials recently says, they have an idea for pumping 150-grand into Delaware Tech. "They want to set-up a regional training program here for wind turbine technicians here in Delaware. The commitment to build the regional hub here for installation of the wind farms as well as the training program to provide training for workers to operate and maintain the turbines once they are installed is contingent upon approval of the project." Carney says, it's important for the wind farm deal to go through because jobs hang in the balance for the First State in what is becoming a growth industry in the United States.
