The community center hearing will begin at 6 p.m. and the wind committee presentation will begin at 7:30 p.m.
The Wind Tower Committee, formed earlier this year, has been investigating whether parts of the town would be suitable for wind turbine development and whether the town should enact laws to control wind farms in town.
The wind committee was originally scheduled to complete its work this December, but it faced the possibility that state laws being considered might preempt local control of wind power development so the committee was asked to move up its report.
No formal applications concerning wind farms have been filed with the town, but a wind power developer has erected two towers in Hamlin to collect wind data. Information from those towers will be used to determine if portions of Hamlin near Lake Ontario would be suitable for wind turbines.
In March, the town board enacted a one-year moratorium on wind tower development the town time to develop laws to regulate wind farms.
The board will meet at 1658 Lake Road.
Questions from the public will not be taken during the wind committee presentation, but future public hearings will be held before any local laws about wind towers are passed.
