This ordinance was adopted by the Trempealeau County Board in a 10-6 vote (see: http://www.windaction.org/news/13246 ). The ordinance distinguishes between three types of wind turbines including hobbyist, personal, and commercial. Commercial turbines include a 1-mile setback from habitable structures. The ordinance provides a comprehensive section on noise level limits for the turbines including specific requirements pertaining to pre- and post- construction noise studies. The adopted ordinance which can be downloaded below was sent to IWA by the Trempealeau County Clerk Paul L. Syverson.

Tioga Preservation Group letter to County Planning Commission re: AES

This letter was submitted to the Tioga County Planning Commission on December 12 in advance of the Planning Commission unanimously voting to grant AES Armenia Mountain Wind L.L.C. conditional approval to construct over 100 wind turbines in the Eastern Region of Tioga County. The letter was submitted on behalf of the Tioga Preservation Group which contends that the conditional approval by the Commission would be in violation of the Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance and other processes established in the county.

Newly discovered evidence of bias and pre-judgment by Energy Facility Site Evaluation Council

This press release provided by the County Prosecutor's office of Kittitas County in Washington State discloses evidence of bias on the part of the Energy Facility Site Evaluation Council in its decision to recommend that Governor Christine Gregoire overrule the local authority and approve the Kittitas Valley Wind Power Project.
This ordinance was adopted by the town of Woodville, WI. The ordinance contains important noise restrictions.

Mr. Sean Cox presented evidence at the Resource Management Act hearing for the Te Uku wind farm which directly countered the economic case for the wind farm, its carbon emissions justification, the available wind resource at Te Uku, adverse noise and health effects, and challenged the expertise of some of wind developer Wel's consultants. When completed, Wel counsel Simon Berry asked that the hearing be adjourned to permit the developer time to respond to Mr. Cox's submission. An excerpt of Mr. Cox's testimony is included below.
