This petition was prepared by North Country Associates and submitted to Franklin County District Attorney Derek Champagne in response to recent information that confirms members of the Burke NY Town Board and ZBA hold agreements with two wind development LLCs seeking to erect turbines in the town. The Burke Town Board and ZBA are considering a wind energy facilities law.

This letter by community noise expert, George Kamperman, was presented to the Township of Chilton and the County of Calumet in advance of their deliberations on the proposed wind energy ordinances. The Township of Chilton adopted the ordinance on Jan 14.

This letter was submitted to the Town Clerk of Burke, NY to be entered into the official record of the Town Board's deliberation of a Wind Energy Facilities Law. Carl J. Madonna is the attorney representing the town in the matter of the local law. The town board voted at its Dec 27, 2007 meeting to impose a 90-day moratorium on wind energy facilities.

The VA SCC issued its final order that conditionally approves the Highland New Wind Development, LLC application to construct and operate a wind energy generating facility in Highland County, Virginia, near the West Virginia border. The proposed facility would consist of up to twenty (20) wind turbines of up to 2.00 MW capacity each. The order included comprehensive monitoring and mitigation for wildlife impacts (bird and bat) and could serve as a model for other projects. One of the commissioners dissented on a provision in the monitoring and mitigation plan.

This letter was submitted to the Tioga County Planning Commission on December 12 in advance of the Planning Commission unanimously voting to grant AES Armenia Mountain Wind L.L.C. conditional approval to construct over 100 wind turbines in the Eastern Region of Tioga County. The letter was submitted on behalf of the Tioga Preservation Group which contends that the conditional approval by the Commission would be in violation of the Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance and other processes established in the county.

This press release provided by the County Prosecutor's office of Kittitas County in Washington State discloses evidence of bias on the part of the Energy Facility Site Evaluation Council in its decision to recommend that Governor Christine Gregoire overrule the local authority and approve the Kittitas Valley Wind Power Project.

Mr. Sean Cox presented evidence at the Resource Management Act hearing for the Te Uku wind farm which directly countered the economic case for the wind farm, its carbon emissions justification, the available wind resource at Te Uku, adverse noise and health effects, and challenged the expertise of some of wind developer Wel's consultants.
