These internal FPL employee meeting communications were anonymously released to the St. Lucie County Attorney Dan McIntyre. The documents show clear knowledge that FPL was aware of potential risks to their nuclear power plant if the company proceeded with a wind energy facility nearby.

During the July 26, 2007 employee communication meeting, senior FPL management presented a proposal to located eight large (1.5-MW) Wind Turbines on site at Plant St Lucie (PSL). A 10 CFR 50.59 Evaluation shall be required prior to the initial project development; however, NRC approval is unlikely due to numerous nuclear safety concerns.
