On Wednesday, August 19th, a Bingham County judge released a 38-page document overturning a Planning and Zoning Committee's approval to move forward with the proposed Wolverine Canyon wind-farm.

The judge cited several areas in which he felt Ridgeline Energy's application for a special use permit was filed improperly.

Newschannel Six spoke with Frank VanderSloot, a strong opponent of the project, the day that the judge's ruling was released.

He said that he was pleased with the judge's thorough investigation of ridgeline's application.

On Friday, August 21, we spoke with Randy Gardner from Ridgeline Energy, who told us that this ruling will likely set the project back an entire year, delaying economic benefits for both Bingham County, and the ranchers whose property the facility would be built on.

While he says that this decision will set them back, he believes that it will, by no means prevent the project from moving forward.

Randy Gardner/Project Manager: Ridgeline Energy: "This is a clarification, and we wish that it would have proceeded at a more rapid pace, but it didn't. So we go back, we do it the way that the judge wanted it done, we're going to take a little more time with some of the areas to make sure everybody's clear on it."

Randy tells us that ridgeline will re-submit their application sometime in the next 60 to 90 days.
